Manage Stress and Support Wellness

Stress affects energy, performance, retention and employee engagement. According to research by WFD Consulting, employees with high stress are 15% less engaged in and committed to their organizations, and their intention to leave their companies is almost twice as high.

Encourage using resources to manage stress and build resilience.

Remind employees of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), health and wellness programs available through the university or outside work, and other work-life resources such as training, webinars, and workshops.

Encourage employees to use their vacation time.

Often a day or two away from the office can make a world of difference.

Encourage health screenings and Your Plan for Health (YPFH) initiatives.

YP4H’s primary focus is on helping benefits-eligible faculty, staff and their families reach the healthiest state possible by offering programs and incentives for identifying and acting on health care conditions, promoting cost-efficient choices based on individual needs, and taking control of health care spending.

Visit the YP4H website and encourage your team to do so. Attend a YP4H webinar or activity. Encourage sharing on wellness topics.
